How I spend my nights in

I’m been really appreciating nights in lately, especially during the winter months. It’s nice to have time to myself and not be distracted by the outside world. Here’s how I like to spend my nights in:

Pampering

When I’ve got a couple of hours to myself, I like to go all out with pampering. I run a super bubbly bath, exfoliate all over, apply intensive conditioner on my hair and slather myself in rich body butter afterwards. Then, I give myself a DIY facial with my favourite cleanser, toner, serum and moisturiser. Simple and inexpensive but bliss!

Reading

Is there anything more relaxing than getting lost in a good book? In a world of smartphones, tablets and technology, I find it quite therapeutic to read. It’s also pretty soothing – a few chapters in the evening and I’m struggling to stay awake! And when I fancy something more visual, I go for a magazine. My favourite is Vogue, as it’s perfect for style inspiration.

Being productive

It sounds super sad but I always feel more on top of life when I stay in and get on with things. You know the things which aren’t much fun but need to be done? Like doing laundry, tidying, cleaning and paying bills? They’re not particularly thrilling but I feel so much better when I’ve ticked them off my to-do list. A tidy house equals a tidy mind and all that.

Lounging
In contrast to being productive, it’s nice to lounge when the chores are out of the way. I try not to stay in bed too much because it makes me feel like a slob but I love sitting by the fire in my slippers with a cup of tea after a long day. And yes, I do realise how much that makes me sound like a 70 year old woman. What of it!

Best thing about time to yourself is that you do not have to even talk to anyone if you don’t want to! That may be the only child coming out in me but I love my own company!

Reading is something I love to do so reading a book with a cuppa in my chunky knits really is just great! Hair up and face mask on with nails drying tops it all off!

I can totally relate Fay, I’m an only child too. I love spending time with people but I love time to myself aswell. I’m used to having my own space!

That sounds like heaven – you’re definitely a girl after my own heart. Thank you for reading :)

I truly believe I am actually a 70yr old woman inside a 26yr old woman. I love crocheting, reading mysteries and applying hand cream. #grannylyfe

This post has inspired me to have a pamper evening <3 :) Thanks!

Nothing wrong with that Kate! It’s what makes you happy and no one else. I’m a hand cream obsessive too – I always have a tube on my desk and in my handbag. Hope you enjoy your pamper evening, thanks for reading! :)
