Staying at The Bermondsey Square Hotel

Since I became a full-time blogger, I’ve been going back and forth to London on a regular basis. Most recently, I went for London Fashion Week.

During this time, I had the opportunity to stay at The Bermondsey Square Hotel in Southwalk. I’ve stayed in the area before and loved it so I looked forward to visiting again.

It’s ideally located with a host of attractions nearby such as Borough Market, The Shard and Tate Modern. Not that I had time to see them with my busy schedule but it was nice to have the option!

I stayed in one of the Terrace Rooms which was light, spacious and bright with hot pink touches. The room also boasted a private terrace overlooking Bermondsey Square. It was the perfect space to relax in after a hectic day dashing between shows.

What’s in the room?

There was a variety of features including a luxury bed, designated work space, rain shower, White Company toiletries, 32 inch LED TV and vanity mirror with quirky touch lights. I even had a lovely robe to lounge in, which was much appreciated after being out and about all day!

The room also had the essentials such as tea/coffee making facilities, a hair dryer and complimentary Wi-Fi. On a separate note, the Wi-Fi was super-fast (nothing worse than rubbish internet!) so I could work on my laptop with no problems.

The bed was super comfortable too. After I finished my work, I settled down early (a rare occasion!) and had a great night’s sleep. In fact, it was probably the best sleep I had had all week. Fashion Week is fun but totally exhausting!

The next day, I made the most of the 11am check-out time and had a leisurely morning at the hotel. Having a cup of tea and checking my emails on the terrace was heavenly! If only every morning could be as chilled!

Eating at the Bermondsey Square Hotel

Before leaving, I was treated to breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant. Although I was tempted by the baked eggs or buckwheat pancakes, I actually chose the full BSH breakfast to set me up for another action-packed day. I don’t indulge in fry-ups very often so it was a naughty (but nice) treat.

Besides the hearty breakfasts, comfortable beds and speedy Wi-Fi, I thought I’d mention a few other excellent features of the hotel.

For example, there’s the lounge area with USB connections, complimentary 100mb Wi-Fi and plug sockets galore – perfect for freelancers, start-ups, students or for those who just need a change of scenary. Membership is free and from 11am-5pm, you can help yourself to free tea or filter coffee.

It’s also worth noting that it’s a pet-friendly (YAY!) and dry hotel, meaning that they don’t serve alcohol. I know this won’t appeal to everyone but as someone who doesn’t particularly drink, I found this to be rather appealing. However, you can consume alcohol in your room so don’t be put off if you do like a tipple!

Overall, a hidden gem of a hotel. Thank you for a fantastic stay, Bermondsey Square Hotel!
