Nailed it! A manicure at The Celtic Manor Resort’s Beauty Bar

Personally, I don’t feel complete without my nails done. A manicure makes me feel ‘put together’ and groomed no matter what. If my nails look good, I feel good. And as I work in an office, it’s nice to look down at pretty hands while I’m typing away.

There’s nothing wrong with bare nails but I just feel so much better when they’re painted. Even if it’s a natural shade! I tend to go for bright or nude hues. It completely depends on my mood, outfit or the weather. I’m not a fan of fussy designs either, I just like simple colour. Maybe a bit of glitter now and then!

Usually, I have a salon manicure once a month. Not only are they relaxing but they force me to take some time out. No distractions, no phone and my only worry is what colour I’m going to have! Oh, the decisions!

Recently, I had my nails done at the Beauty Bar at The Celtic Manor Resort. I was meant to have a Luxury Manicure but unfortunately, there was only time for a file and polish.

Since my previous Shellac nails took so long to remove, I could only have a soak off and fresh gel colour. Completely understandable of course, but obviously I can’t review in full detail. After the removal, my nails were filed and buffed before being painted with Jessica GELeration polish.

What did I go for?

I chose magenta as I fancied something seasonal l without going for dark, vampy shades that I normally associate with Autumn/Winter. They look hot pink in the photo but in real life, they were definitely more purple.

As for The Beauty Bar itself, it’s a tranquil and pristine space. In fact, it’s immaculate. Think light, clean and sophisticated with Hollywood style mirrors, candles and subtle chandeliers. Nothing gaudy or tacky, which I find quite off-putting in some salons.

What treatments are there?

The treatments range from brows and lashes to make-up to manicures and pedicures. With packages a-plenty, it’s ideal for girly pamper sessions. Or even your man, there’s treatments for him too! Nostril tidy anyone?

You can even spoil yourself with a glass of bubbly. There’s a drinks menu so you can enjoy a tipple whilst being pampered. And don’t worry if you don’t drink (like me!) or you’re driving, there’s also great variety of hot drinks.

When I left, my nails had been given a new lease of life. And I felt like I’d been given a boost. There’s nothing like a little pamper to put a spring in your step. Thank you to The Celtic Manor for inviting me along, I’d love to come back!
